What audio and video formats can I upload?
Any of the usual formats are accepted: MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, OGG, and FLAC for audio, and MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, or WEBM for video. We recently added video formats to the list, so you can upload a video call recording directly without extracting the audio or converting it first.
How long does it take to transcribe a recording?
Approximately half the recording time: a 40-minute audio file is ready in around 20 minutes. It's not instantaneous, but it arrives long before you sit down to transcribe it.
Do I need to install anything?
No. You upload the file from your browser, and that's it. If you also want to record the conversation with Voicit instead of uploading a pre-recorded file, there's a Chrome extension for video calls and a physical recorder for calls and in-person meetings.
Can I transcribe a WhatsApp audio message?
Yes. Download the voice note of the conversation—it's usually in OGG or M4A format—and upload it like any other file. It's one of the most common uses, especially for transcribing long audio recordings that you don't have time to listen to.
Does it work on Mac?
Yes, and on Windows and Linux. Everything happens in the browser, so the operating system doesn't matter and you don't need to install any software.
Can I transcribe audio in Catalan?
